State Legislative candidates to face off in Issaquah Forum

Candidates for state House and Senate for the 5th and 41st Legislative Districts will answer questions from the community in a forum hosted by Kiwanis Club of Issaquah and the Issaquah branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW).

The Candidate Forum will be held on two nights, Wednesday, Oct. 1st and Wednesday, Oct 8th.  For both nights the hours will be from 6:30 to 8:40 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 135 W. Sunset Way in Issaquah. The forum is open to the public. The City of Issaquah will record the broadcast, so the public can also watch remotely on Channel 21 or the city’s YouTube channel.

Opposed candidates will answer a series of questions. At the end of their scheduled time, the candidates will have an opportunity to ask each other a final question.
 
October 1st:
Candidates for the 5th District Senate seat will face off at 6:30 p.m.-7:10 p.m., followed candidates for King County Council Position 3 from 7:15 p.m.-7:55 p.m. and 41st State Representative District 41 candidates from 8 p.m-8:40 p.m.
 
October 8th:
Unopposed City of Issaquah Council Candidates from 6:30 p.m.-6:34 p.m.
City of Issaquah Council Candidates from 6:35 p.m.-7:30 p.m. and the Issaquah School Board Candidates from 7:35-8:35 p.m.
 
The forum will be moderated by Judy Rogers and Vickie McCorkendale.
 
Members of the community are encouraged to submit questions for the Forum. Due to limited time, not all questions will be asked but they will be considered. Email questions by September 20th to johnpjensenwa@gmail.com, please include your name and contact information.
 
To help voters make informed decisions, the videotaped forum will be repeated daily on Issaquah’s Channel 21 until the Nov. 5 general election and will be available at any time on the city’s YouTube channel.
